Common reasons for discrepancies with your investment balances and how to resolve them
If the balances in your Investments view appear incorrect, there could be a few reasons for this discrepancy.
Possible reasons for discrepancies between your investment holdings balances and your investments balances:
- Data Syncing Issues: Sometimes, there may be delays in syncing data between your financial institutions and Fruition. Investment accounts in particular experience delays more regularly than debit accounts like checking and savings accounts. We use Plaid to sync data between your connected investment accounts and your Fruition account. Data is synced daily, however data from investments accounts is often delayed 30-45 days because of how the associated financial institution shares data with Plaid. Because of these delays, your holdings balances may appear inaccurate, but your investments balances should almost always appear accurate within a day or so. If you notice a material discrepancy or are concerned your accounts aren’t syncing properly, you can always connect with our customer success team by filing a help desk ticket.
- Recent Transactions Not Updated: If you’ve made recent transactions or changes to your investment accounts, they may not yet be reflected in your balance due to settlement and data syncing.
- Account Connection Problems: There may be an issue with the connection between your investment account and Fruition. This can occasionally cause discrepancies in your displayed balance.
What You Can Do:
- Refresh Your Data: Try refreshing the page or re-syncing your investment accounts to update the information.
- Check for Updates: Ensure there are no pending transactions or updates from your financial institution that need to be processed.
- Reconnect Your Accounts: If the issue persists, consider reconnecting your investment accounts in Fruition to ensure accurate data syncing.
